Bulgarian R&B,SOUL and RAP

Hey folks, being a student in Glasgow made me feel a  little nostalgic, so I decided to introduce you to some of the best bulgarian R&B, Rap and Soul artists.

First, let me introduce you ”100 кила”, translated ”100 kilos”, who is currently a super famous rap singer in Bulgaria and is going to have a concert on 19th of April in Manchester.

This is MAGI, she’s 25 years old and also a winner of the third  Bulgarian Music idol. She’s the perfect example of R&B and Soul performing artist in Bulgaria. If she wasn’t born in there, she would have become worldwide famous by now.

A rap group called “Upsurt” is one of the most popular amongst young people. They are founded in the beginning of 1996 by childhood friends Itso ‘The Gamble’ Hazarta, Butch, Bat ‘Bro’ Ventsi and Panchev. Their first records were recorded in Sudibula studio in January 1996. After a while, Shlevi Panchev left the band and only three members remained. They have released four albums so far. The song is one of their biggest hits ‘3 in 1”

Santra is 29, she’s an approved R&B singer, so here is her latest hit ”Нещо по-добро”- ”Something better”

Billy the kid, Dim4ou and Lexus became famous with their hit “Bash Maistorska”, which I’m not sure If i can translate correctly. The song was one of the most preferred for the last summer.

R&B night in Glasgow

                     Places to visit:

Kushion is a funky and trendy bar and nightclub. The interior is stylish
and modern and the atmosphere is buoyant and friendly.
They hold a student night every Tuesday which always has the club packed the refers.

I think it is a great place to go out, they always have great drink offers. As a student
its the best place for a night out you can usually score some free passes somewhere
and the dj’s are always good.

A friend told me about the Karbon, I haven’t been there yet but it is one of the cities
busiest nightclubs and is extremely popular with the student crowd. Spread over three
rooms and playing a vast array of music, there is sure to be something to suit everyone’s taste.

The Garage is a full throttle club which also has glowing reputation.
It is Spread over 5 rooms, they have a massive line up of regular DJ’s playing
a vast variety of music ranging from R&B to Pop. For a cracking
night out in the city, you cannot go far wrong if you choose it.

Kanye Kim Brazil

Hey people, here are some news:

My favourite rapper  Kanye West won three Grammy Awards, but was not at the event to accept them. West choose instead to spend time with his pregnant girlfriend, Kim Kardashian, and friend Will Smith in Brazil.

Kardashian and West have been in Brazil since last week, visiting tourist sites as well as shantytowns in Rio. Meanwhile, Kardashian has been sparking rumors that she and West are getting engaged soon, after posting a picture of her wearing West’s initials on her wedding ring finger.

4 months and 9 days till “T in the park 2013”

T in the park

T in the Park 2013
is a three day music festival which will take  place between 11–14 July 2013 in Balado, Kinross. It is the 20th Anniversary of the Scottish music festival. We already know that  Rihanna and Mumford and Sons were announced as the first and second headliner acts on 4 December 2012.
Others acts confirmed on the same day were Jake BuggAlt-JOf Monsters and MenThe ScriptPaloma Faith. On 5 December 2012 The Killers were announced as third headliner act and other acts confirmed were Two Door Cinema Club and Azealia Banks. On 13 December 2012 it was announced that Emeli Sandé would return to the music festival for it’s 20th anniversary. On 13 February 2013, Germany Electronic band Kraftwerk were added to the line-u

Аll  tickets were sold out by the end of february !!!

Last year i had the opportunity to attend it for first time, because originally I am from Bulgaria, but I was in Glasgow for a week to see the university, i was applying for, which is the university i am studying in now. So i was able to combine these two things. What i liked the most was:
– The opportunity to see all these big acts in the same place;
– The price of the tickets was perfect. I  had to pay only a pound for each artist.

What i didn’t like last year was that the acts were really disappointing after the huge hype that has been advertised. Many regular T in The Park attendees were disappointed. The stages were placed too close together which means that when two acts are playing at the same time then often the music can clash against one another leaving the sound quality pretty poor at times. For example  when Coldplay were competing against Swedish House Mafia. Obviously the differences between the music (Coldplay being mellow and quiet in comparison to Swedish House Mafia being loud, electronic dance music meant that Coldplay were finding it difficult to perform due to the disruption and the Coldplay fans could hear the music from the opposite stage!

I won’t be there this year, wish you’ll have a good time!!

Best Grammy Awards in 2013

Hey, buddies, did you  like the Grammy awards 2013?

грамми

The most notable awards for this year were the following :

In general, these were the best Grammy awards I have ever seen as Justin Timberlake said .The performances were quite good and also I liked the celebrities on the red carpet, they were absolutely perfect. Тaylor Swift opened the ceremony in the best way! Bob Marley‘s Tribute was really interesting, with unusual combination of artists. I was so happy that Kanye and Jay-Z took  3 completely deserved awards.Beyonce’s award was deserved as well. The Black Keys made the perfect grammy performance, and took 4 grammy awards. I think that “No Church in The Wild” was definitely one of the more prominent offerings in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category. This single has been featured in numerous commercials, movie trailers and in venues worldwide. The steady beat, Jay-Z’s flow, West’s boastfulness, and Ocean’s honesty made this song the pulse of rap in 2013

Here are some of the performances and photos from the red carpet:

2012 has seen Rita Ora become one of the most exciting new artists to break through and following the release of her debut album, Rita’s concert in Glasgow from her ”Radioactive UK tour” attracted a lot of fans in O2 couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately, I could not be part of it.
The british singer with albanian roots was impressed by the great audience, which became clear after her tweet: ”Geordies you were mental! Amazing thank you for having me! Wow I have to come back to Glasgow ! Next stop Manchester!”
